To show you I bought this peeler for real. I made this picture. For starters, this is not a cheap peeler. Some peelers start from 5 dollars and when you spent 12 dollar you already get a decent julienne peeler. This one I bought from a brick-and-mortar store for 29 dollars but you also can find it on Amazon for 29,95 dollars.
The main reason why I bought this Peeler is to speed up the process of julienning my vegetables. A cucumber takes less than two minutes. If you trying to make julienne with a knife it takes up to 10 minutes.
It does spiral potatoes, carrots, cucumbers, zucchini, sweet potatoes . For the best result you have to use long shaped and firm vegetables

Take for example the OXO julienne peeler, a kind of potato peeler which allows you to cut very thin strips of vegetables. The name is not entirely justified: julienne namely indicates that the vegetable strips have a size of a matchstick, tw 0.3 x 0.3 x 2-5 cm. With the peeler the strips are often longer and thinner. This handy kitchen gadget lets you make with a simple move the best julienne ever.

The main reason why I bought this Peeler is the speed at which you can process your vegetables. A cucumber takes less than two minutes. If you make your own vegetable julienne and you want them to store for later use these technics to keep them fresh and prevent discoloring. Put them in cold water, under plastic wrapping, in the refrigerator. For vegetables, potatoes and fruit that can discolor, you could add some lemon juice to the water to prevent discoloration.
What about Sauté, boil, steam, deep-fried and also freeze. Lets get into the different technics.
