Wy did I purchase this peeler?
I bought this Kuhn Rikon julienne peeler one mouth ago and I loving it. Most of the time I’m making cucumber and carrots julienne. These julienne are perfect for a stir-fry, salades and also soups. The main reason why I bought this Peeler is the speed at which you can process your vegetables. A cucumber takes less than two minutes. If you trying to make julienne with a knife it takes up to 10 minutes.
The second reason is the robustness of the unit. Its made of a high quality of the used materials. You have to variants. One with plastic handle and the other with an stainless steel handle. I Prefer the last one. Its very cheffy like.
Are there drawbacks?
Yes, only one: Cleaning the peeler is very tricky when you have processed hard vegetables. Little Pieces tend to stick between the teeth of the device. Because I’ve no dishwasher I obliged To wash by hand. I find a toothpick is an excellent means to clean the julienne peeler. But it takes time.
Overall conclusion
A robust peeler which makes it easy to julienne the fast way. It makes vegetables fun to eat and because you eat more greens your health will benefit also.
